KATANA

AIZU MICHITOKI c.1750

POLISHED by JOHN BOWHAY

Gorgeous Katana attributed to Aizu Michitoki by the NTHK.   As you can see in the photographs, it has text book perfect masame hada.  If you were never sure what masame looked like, you need not wonder any longer. There are lots of chikei and some ji-nie as well. The hamon has sunagashi, nie and more. The hakikake in the boshi is absolutely outstanding. The one piece habaki is gold foiled. It comes in Shirasaya.

This sword was originally in gunto mounts and was restored by John Bowhay.

It is in excellent condition.

NTHK papers.
