KOSHIRAE

Offered on consignment is a gorgeous Katana in Koshirae attributed by the NBTHK to Fuyuhiro.  There were several generations of Wakasa Fuyuhiro smiths during the mid to late Muromachi period, and later generations which worked into the mid 1800's.  The shodai or founder of the Wakasa school was the son of Soshu Hirotsugu and the Soshu influence is vey strong in this sword.  The NBTHK did not specify a generation and as such I presume they have indicated the Shodai.  In most cases if the attribution is to a later generation, it will be in parenthesis.

The sword is accompanied by papers per the NBTHK and is housed in a very nice Koshirae.

$6000 plus S/H

PURCHASE / INQUIRIES

There are a few very light scuffs and scratches and a few tiny areas of loose grain or kitte ware, but nothing unexpected or of concern for a 600 year old sword. Guaranteed absolutely nothing detrimental or fatal.  Obviously nothing which prevented this sword from receiving authentication papers from the NBTHK

*Please note that the photos do not do the blade justice, it looks much better in hand.
