Now offering this beautiful ubu Naginata, by the sword smith Masamori.  This Masamori seems to be one of those obscure smiths who didn't make into the books.  Sesko's "Swordsmith's of Japan" lists one Masamori from the Kyowa period, who worked in Nagato and Edo.  Is this the guy, there simply isn't enough information to say.

What I can say is that this is a beautiful Naginata.  It is ubu, which makes it especially nice.  It is papered and polished.  There are no flaws.  There is however, a small anomaly which can be seen in the photos. It is merely a small dark spot in the steel and can be seen when the light is just right. It can not be felt using a tissue and can only be seen, in other words it is not a dip or dimple, nor is it raised at all.  In most of the photos it doesn't show up, but it does exist and I don't want any misunderstandings about it.  Guaranteed absolutely nothing detrimental or fatal, as evidenced by receiving authentication papers from the NTHK.
