KOSHIRAE

One for the Higo connoisseur.  A beautiful papered Aikuchi Koshirae with complete and matching Higo fittings.

The blade in this package is an unusual shape in that it is Hira-zukuri on the Ura side, and Unokubi-zukuri on the Omote.  This sword exhibits coarse O-Itame hada which would seem atypical for Shinshinto works.  However, please note what Fujishiro has to say about this smith. "He is said to to be the Imperial Archives keeper Nakayama, is called Yoshihiro, and as if cherishing the memory of Etchu Yoshihiro, his works are O-Itame with remarkable hada.  His works bring memories of the Soshu den of the Koto period. His works are nothing but beautiful"

This blade is in very good condition with a few light scuffs and surface scratches or hike kizu, a few areas of loose grain, which would be expected in his working style of old.   Absolutely nothing detrimental, fatal or substantial enough to prevent it from passing shinsa. The polish while not brand new, is still quite good, allowing for easy study.  Swords by Yoshihiro are rated Chujosaku by Fujishiro for their quality.

*Please note, while the blade is very nice, make no mistake the highlight and primary cost of this package is the Koshirae.

The Koshirae is flawless and needs no description, the provided photos attest to both the quality and condition of this beautiful and stunning work.
