SHIRASAYA

Genuine Yoroidoshi Tanto up for grabs.  So often I see tanto being called Yoroidoshi when they are in fact simply long thin Tanto.  This, boy's and girl's is the real deal.  This tanto  is quite long at 12.25" nagasa and it may be technically a wakizashi if it was sent to shinsa.  However, there is no doubt that this was made and mounted as a Tanto.  It is one thick hunk of steel at a full 3/8", making it only 1/8"(0.125" / 0.3175cm) shy of a full 0.5" thick (kasane).  When held in hand there is no doubting how a tanto could pierce armor.

Big gorgeous blade in above average shirasaya.  One piece gold foil habaki.  Lots of activity to see and study as seen in the provided photos.
