KOSHIRAE (CANE)

Offered is a Wakizashi housed or disguised in a walking cane mount or koshirae.  The cane is lacquer over wood and is fashioned in a Bamboo motif.  There is some damage to the lacquer but not so much that it can not be enjoyed still (see photos).  The overall length of the koshirae is approximately 35" or 89cm.

The blade is mumei but ubu with one mekugi ana.  There are scuffs and scratches, spider rust, one small chip, but no loose grain or kitte ware (see photos).  The Hada is muji or a very tight ko-itame.  The Hamon is in bright nioi with ko nie.  The pattern is an undulating Midare.  Hataraki within the hamon such as nie kozure, nijuba are seen.  I tried repeatedly to get the bright hamon to show in the photos, but was unsuccessful. I guarantee that it is quite bright and complete when viewing in hand. The sword has a wide chu kissaki which gives the sword a larger feel.

Overall it is a decent rig for someone on a limited budget.  It is a legitimate Japanese sword and even with a few cosmetic issues is still in good enough condition to see the Hataraki or activety.  It is priced cheap enough, that at some point one may could justify having it polished.
