DAISHO IN KOSHIRAE This Daisho has been recently re-mounted in a Samurai theme. The saya are freshly done with new lacquer. The Tsuka have new Ito and were wrapped by David McDonald. The fittings are matching with Menuki of Kabuto and Yari, Fuchi's depict Menpo and Sode, and the Kashira are Buffalo horn. The Tsuba are iron Owari sukashi done in a classic design known as "Matsukawabishi" meaning pine bark. They represent two stylized pine trees, one on either side. The habaki are both one piece silver in a rain drop pattern. The Katana Habaki is brand new and was made by Brian Tschernega. The Wakizashi is in new polish by Jon Bowhay, which was done after these photos were taken. This Daisho is being offered with the Katana Kake (lacquered stand) shown in the top photo. $8000 USD
