Katana in Koshirae.

The Koshirae has a banded lacquered saya highlighted by a brass kojiri. The saya has nice large nodule same and is wrapped in blue ito. The menuki are shakudo shishi. The tsuba is an iron mokko gata depicting birds flying over the waves.

This katana is being offered for sale "as is" due to a small hagire located at the hamachi (see photos). It was at some time past shortened up to the hagire in order to maintain the functionality of the weapon. When the Habaki is in place it is completely unseen, yet make no mistake it does exist.

Otherwise the blade is still in good condition and would be excellent for an Iai sword or for someone who wants a "real" Japanese sword but is on a limited budget.
