| TSUBA T-12 IRON WITH MIXED METALS 2.625" (6.67cm) x 2.5" (6.35CM) x 0.125" (0.312cm) Ana: 1.0625 (2.69cm) x 0.25" 90.625cm) This is one of several Tsuba I am listing which belonged to the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. This tsuba is an iron maru gata depicting a Sakura or Cherry tree in full blossom. The iron plate is well forged and does show some tekkotsu or iron bones in the mimi. The tree trunk is iron takabori with splashes of gold nunome highlights. The prolific blossoms are done in silver and highlighted by gold leaves. A very pleasing and timeless motif. Truly a Museum quality piece. $800 USD
