Large Tsuba depicting a tiger in the mountains. The plate is Shibuichi an alloy of copper and silver. It is in excellent condition.

The mei “Genhan” was the name of the Tsushima Clan in very early Meji era.

This was a very difficult mei to translate. After much struggling, cursing and hair pulling, I eventually had to seek assistance with it. My thanks to KM for his expertise in translating this.
