F/K ISHIGURO MASATATSU / PHEASANT / $3000
Masatatsu, Ishiguro
Fuchi/Kashira
NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon
Ishiguro Masatatsu (H.04536) was the son of Ishiguro Masakatsu (H.04112). Masakatsu was a student of the first-generation Masatsune 1760-1828, founder of the Ishiguro school.
Masatatsu was also a student of Masatsune and Yokoya Hidekiyo. There are works of Masatatsu dated 1830 and 1843 which indicate he may have studied under or with both the 1st and 2nd generation Masatsune c. 1800-1850.
This wonderful F/K is a classic Ishiguro design depicting a Pheasant foraging among the wildflowers. The ground is shakudo with Nanako and the motif is done in a wide range of soft metals including shakudo, shibuichi, suaka copper, silver, and gold.
The artists incredible ability is evident when closely inspecting the details. Take note of the fine detail seen in the feathers and feet. Look closely at the tail feathers and note they are done in shibuichi with the small black dots being shakudo.
This F/K comes with NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon papers as well as a Custom fitted box.
