Ishiguro Masachika (H.03856) c. 1825 is listed as a student of the 1st generation Ishiguro Masatsune 1760-1828 (H.04751), while other references say Ishiguro Masahiro (H.04012) c. 1825-50. Masahiro is also listed as a student of Masatsune. As often seen, there is some debate over which of the references is correct. Yet, when looking closely at the working dates of the three, it seems plausible to surmise that both Masachika and Masahiro were students of Masatsune.
This set of fittings depicts Ginko mons in gold on a base of shakudo. Due to the formality of the set, I would surmise a custom order. If not signed and papered to Ishiguro, my first thought would have been Goto work. They exhibit a very Goto look and feel.
I researched this specific kamon and have been unable to locate an exact match. As there are literally thousands of extant mons, many unrecorded, it is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Signed: Ishiguro Masachika
