OMORI SHISHI BOTAN

OMORI TSUBA

NTHK Kanteisho

3” X 3” Thickness: 3/16” (0.1875”), 4.7625mm

Weight: 186 gms, 6.6 oz., 0.410 lb.

This tsuba was purchased in the 80’s in Japan from an elderly gentleman. As many pieces this tsuba came through my partners father who was a prominent Iai teacher in the area.  The gentleman disclosed that he had owned this tsuba since before the war and had always planned to pass it down to his son. Sadly, his son was killed in the war and he had no family left.

Beautiful, pristine tsuba produced by one of the most famous and collectable schools, Omori.

This tsuba contains a huge gold content which is evident by its weight and the quality of the shakudo. It takes a high gold content to produce the Raven blue-black seen in high end pieces such as this.

Go back and look at the weight of this tsuba at 6.6oz., it is only 1.4oz from weighing 1/2 lb. That is massive for a tsuba.

The tsuba is in pristine condition and shows incredible detail.

$3500 plus S/H and any associated fees (PP, Wire, etc.
