Delicate iron sukashi tsuba with 4 Trefoils and what may be fern brackens (?). A trefoil is a graphic form composed of the outline of three overlapping rings, used in architecture, Pagan, Christian and Buddhist symbolism, among other areas.

The patina is smooth and perfect. This tsuba is in excellent condition and would be very nice mounted on a thin katana or long wakizashi.

I cannot decide on the age of this tsuba. It does show some age on the insides of the sukashi, yet the outside is so pristine I think it is no older than late Edo and perhaps even Meji.

Regardless, it is a nice tsuba and and is priced accordingly.

$200 plus S/H and any associated fees (PayPal, bank wire, etc.)
